Shepparton High students play chess on their new giant board.

Shepparton High School’s library has purchased some giant chess pieces to be used by students before school and at lunchtime this year.

There is a keen group of chess enthusiasts within the school and an increasing number of students showing interest in the game.

This prompted the library to make the game more accessible to more students.

VCAL students and staff assisted with the project.

The students created the outdoor chess board in pavers and are busily working on constructing outdoor seating around the chess board.
