Serious superheros: Archie Dixon, 20 months, and Jemma Dixon, 4.

Relaxing: Lexi Kearney with her mum Gill Kearney.

Super: Thomas Dunstone, 3.

Excited: Alyssa Tayag, 3.

Enjoying day: Eva Nicolaci, 2.

A horde of superheroes descended on Shepparton Library yesterday.

Capes and T-shirts emblazoned with the letter ‘S’ were easy to spot as pint-size heroes gathered for a range of activities celebrating Wonder Woman Day.

Wonder Woman Day was created to coincide with the release of the new Wonder Woman film and, as usual, Shepparton Library was eager to lasso another themed event.

The day included trivia, activity sheets, colouring pages and craft activities.

Shepparton Library children and youth services librarian Emma Kennedy said it was wonderful to see so many children at the library dressed as superheros and enjoying the activities.

‘‘They just looked fantastic. They were really, really cute,’’ she said.

Ms Kennedy said the children made superhero headbands together and did some colouring.

She said the activities would continue across the weekend so everyone could have a chance to make a headband, do a word find or colour in a superhero.
