Kiwanis Club of Mooroopna president Garry Alexander and committee member Cedric Hall with Mooroopna Primary School principal Steve Rogers and Rebel Sport store manager Tina Ferati.

Students at Mooroopna primary schools will receive new sporting equipment, thanks to a combined $750 donation from Mooroopna Kiwanis Club and Rebel Sport.

Mooroopna Primary School, St Mary’s Primary Mooroopna and Mooroopna Park Primary will share the donation and be able to give young sporting stars a chance to pursue success in sport.

This is the third year the project has run, with Kiwanis having donated more than $2000 towards the cause.

Mooroopna Primary School principal Steve Rogers said getting children active was important and the vouchers would go towards students to help them get the gear for their chosen sport.

‘‘Last year we opened the opportunity to students with a written challenge where they had to describe why and what they will do with the donation,’’ he said.

This is the second year the club has partnered with Rebel Sport, which donated an additional $150 in vouchers to the Kiwanis’ fundraising of $600.
