Plenty of laughter and fun was had at Wunghnu Primary School on Wednesday morning when the school welcomed its youngest visitors for its first developmental playgroup.

The once-a-week session runs from 9.30am to 10.30am on Wednesdays and is open to all children, including those with no existing ties to the school.

Playgroup co-ordinator Rosita Gattuso said the playgroup was aimed at getting more families and their children to utilise the school’s facilities.

The group operates in a developmental room, filled with bright colours, learning tools and many toys for children to enjoy.

Tegan Adams from Kaarimba was looking for a playgroup for her daughter Azalea Vearing, 3, when she heard her older children’s school would be launching one.

‘‘I just want her to interact with other children and get used to the school environment,’’ Ms Adams said.

‘‘She doesn’t go to anything else really so it’s good.’’
