Bourchier St Primary School Year 3 students have been putting on the finishing touches to a mosaic table for Ave Maria Village residents.
The students from Dean Bush’s class came up with the idea and created the decorative design for the table two weeks ago.
Mr Bush said the table’s creation was inquiry-based learning.
‘‘The students did research and experimented with different materials and used their maths skills for the measurements and creativity for the design,’’ Mr Bush said.
Year 3 student Taj Johnson said they made a model of the table out of cardboard before using wood and tiles.
‘‘We drew the designs of the top of the table on a big sheet of paper,’’ he said.
All the materials were donated.
