Enrolment freeze

Goulburn Valley Ovens TAFE has put a freeze on enrolments for a small number of courses.

Goulburn Ovens TAFE chief executive Paul Culpan has said it was an internal decision to pause enrolments.

In a statement, Mr Culpan said the decision to pause new enrolments in a small number of programs was not an outside order.

‘‘This is in line with internal processes and not as a directive from the Department of Education and Training,’’ Mr Culpan said.

‘‘The pause on new enrolments will be lifted once due diligence is complete.’’

He said no current GOTAFE students would be impacted by the pause. News of the enrolment freeze came to light last week after accusations of a rorting of enrolments to boost government funding.
