Shepparton Christian College has collected items this term to fill more than 100 shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child for children in developing nations.
The shoebox gifts are distributed by humanitarian charity Samaritan’s Purse and include something to wear, something to love, something special, something for school, something to play with and something for personal hygiene.
‘‘It’s been really good to see all the classrooms work together and contributing shoeboxes to the cause,’’ one of the school’s Operation Christmas Child organisers, Emily Aiton, said.
‘‘These children who are same age as us are not as fortunate and many have never received a present.
‘‘The gifts impact not only the children themselves but the whole community.’’
The shoeboxes that marked clearly for age and gender will be dropped off next month.
