Hakea Lodge residents enjoy Christmas entertainment provided by Bourchier St Primary School students.

Bourchier St Primary School students brought Christmas cheer to residents at the Hakea Lodge aged care facility in Shepparton on Wednesday.

The students held a special concert for residents to get them in the festive spirit.

‘‘The residents loved talking to the kids and singing the carols,’’ choir co-ordinator Alice Symons said.

About 22 students performed in the choir, singing about six Christmas carols.

Hakea Lodge leisure and lifestyle officer Gwenda Willis said the students’ visit was a great treat for residents.

‘‘The residents loved it,’’ she said.

‘‘It was a bit more lively than the normal Christmas carols.’’

Ms Willis said the students enjoyed performing so much they asked to come back next year.

Ms Symons said the students did a great job and really enjoyed giving the concert.

‘‘It gives them a chance to develop that confidence and enjoyment of singing,’’ she said.
