Tatura boys looking to continue their run

Tatura Primary School students Cooper O’Neill, and Marcus Perry, 10, will race to put their town on the map in the Victorian Cross Country Championships.

The boys have spent the past month competing in cross country across the Goulburn Valley district and regional north-east, where they achieved top 12.

School principal Susanne Gill said the boys were sporting enthusiasts.

‘‘They are both very active and involved in lots of sport, including the recent Tatura basketball finals, we’re very proud that they have represented us well and we can’t thank their supportive parents enough who take them to these high-level competitions,’’ Mrs Gill said.

Mrs Gill said if the boys did well in the state championships, they would be off to Brisbane for the nationals.

‘‘We wish them the best of luck, but know they will do us proud regardless,’’ she said.

Marcus and Cooper agreed they were excited about representing the school in the state championships and competing against each other.

‘‘We’re very proud and hope to do well,’’ Cooper, 10, said.

The Victorian Cross Country Championships will be in Melbourne at Bundoora Park on July 19.
