Close to 150 students from Shepparton High School and Numurkah Secondary College participated in a Mini O event at La Trobe University in Shepparton yesterday.

The Year 9 students experienced the major elements of Orientation Week and Open Day.

They spent the morning taking part in a range of information sessions and hands-on learning based around subjects, pathways, health/nursing, sports, creative work and indigenous art.

Students also enjoyed a barbecue lunch with 20 I-Aspire students who took part in the day.

School partnerships program co-ordinator Danielle Gow delivered the event, with the aim to engage local secondary students in activities and events to increase their aspirations for university.

She said the aim was to get students on campus to engage with university students who they could relate to, consider their options for the future, identify pathways and know university was an option for them.
