Interactive nurture nature event at KidsTown

By Tara Whitsed

Children had a lesson in all things nature at SPC KidsTown yesterday.

Many gathered to take part in RiverConnect’s interactive nurture nature event, which provided educational activities with an environmental focus.

Among the popular activities was an encounter with Monty, a Darling River python, with Bohollow Wildlife Shelter staff teaching children about the safe handling of reptiles.

While the breed is local to the area, it is found in small numbers.

The event was also a great opportunity for adults to brush up on their environmental knowledge and have some fun with their children.

Goulburn Valley Water was also on site, cooling children down with refreshments from the water cafe.
