Bourchier St Primary welcomes the community to the 21st Century

By Morgan Dyer

Shepparton’s Bourchier Street Primary School students will be welcoming their parents, friends and grandparents to the 21st century on Wednesday night.

More than 200 children will take to the stage at East Bank to perform their hit new production, Welcome to the 21st Century.

For the past seven weeks students from years 5 and 6 have been practising extremely hard to ensure their voices and dance moves wow the crowd.

Noah Martin, Dakota Moran, Aiden Chaston, Charlotte Seal and Marlee Tweedle are among the students who will take to the stage at East Bank tomorrow night.

Production co-ordinator and school teacher Stacey Price said the students will perform a variety of songs released from 2000 to 2019.

“It's been really great to see the students improve their confidence throughout the term,” Ms Price said.

“They have shown so much growth and they are always asking when their next production practice is."

On Tuesday morning the students took part in a dress rehearsal for a chance to fine tune their performance one last time.

Some teachers are also getting in on the fun and will make a surprise appearance during a number of the songs.

The performance begins at 7.30pm on Wednesday, August 28. Tickets are $10 and are available for purchase at the school.
